Sandra Kimberley
Bitcoin Policy and Regulatory Affairs Practitioner
Kimberley Sandra is a Kenyan Bitcoin policy and regulatory affairs practitioner focused on the intersection of Bitcoin, financial regulation, and financial inclusion in Africa.
She has worked across the African Bitcoin ecosystem, with experience spanning regulatory intelligence, compliance, policy research, ecosystem development, and operations. At Bitika, a Kenyan Bitcoin on-ramp, Kimberley worked on AML and compliance frameworks, regulatory engagement, data protection, and the development of Bitcoin infrastructure connecting mobile money users to Bitcoin.
Her work has also involved regulatory and policy research across several African markets, including Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa. She is particularly interested in how African regulatory frameworks can respond to Bitcoin in ways that reflect local financial systems, economic realities, and patterns of adoption.
Kimberley’s research and advocacy focuses on Bitcoin policy, financial sovereignty, and the transition from Bitcoin adoption toward Bitcoin industrialisation in Africa. She is interested in what happens when Bitcoin moves beyond individual users and becomes part of the infrastructure supporting payments, commerce, savings, capital formation, and economic participation.
She is currently focused on building deeper expertise at the intersection of Bitcoin policy, regulatory intelligence, and institutional engagement across Africa.
