Ghaffar Hussain is the Managing Director of Groundswell Project – a community building organisation that promotes innovative financial solutions for diaspora communities in the UK and the Global South. His work involves supporting female entrepreneurs in Kenya with Bitcoin based micro-credit, supporting migrant and minority community based organisations in the UK with alternatives to extortionate fiat-based remittance systems and working with victims of domestic violence around achieving financial freedom. He regularly writes for Bitcoin magazine and appears on podcasts to explain how Africa is a key centre of innovation and adoption for Bitcoin and technologies that promote financial freedom.
