Calvin Kim got into the Bitcoin rabbit hole in 2017 and is most notable for his contributions to scaling Bitcoin and making Bitcoin nodes more accessible via the Utreexo project, a proposed protocol improvement defined in BIPs 181-183. Besides contributing code, he’s known for his community activities such as the Seoul Bitcoin Meetup, running conferences in Seoul, and mentoring next generation of Bitcoiners through Summer of Bitcoin and the East Asia Apprenticeship program.
