Britney Taamu Miyashiro
ProgramS Facilitator at Honolulu Bitcoin at NB
Britney is passionately focused on empowering Hawai‛i and Pasifika communities through Bitcoin adoption and education. With a background in workplace safety consultancy, she specializes in making complex technical concepts accessible to diverse audiences through workshops and activities. She is a co-organizer of Honolulu Bitcoin, serves on the board of The Bitcoin Transformation Community, and organizes in-person events for Base58.
In 2024, Britney had the opportunity to host a workshop with Btrust at the Africa Bitcoin Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. It was her first time in the country, and the continent. It was there that she realized the how much more advanced the understanding and innovation for the adoption of Bitcoin is in Africa, in comparison to her experiences at conferences in North America.
Since then, Britney has been a guest instructor for remote Bitcoin courses across Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania as she develops a program for comparable ones serving island nations of the Pacific. She sees strong cultural parallels among Africa and Pacific groups, and is looking forward to exploring the connection between cultural diaspora and Bitcoin adoption.
