Chef Lopez is an entrepreneur and chef, trained at the Culinary Arts Institute of Washington D.C. He is the Project Director of Kisaw and Operations Manager at the Africa Bitcoin Conference. Lopez began his career as a chef at Hilton Washington before relocating to Togo in 2016 to open his own restaurant. Passionate about rural community development, he created a restaurant chain that adapts locally grown products into modern African cuisine.
In 2021, Lopez discovered Bitcoin and since then his restaurant is the first and only restaurant that accepts Bitcoin payment in Togo.He has been active in promoting Bitcoin adoption among farmers in Togo, where over 95% lack access to banking. He is also the co-founder of the Togo Bitcoin Community, working to educate the local communities on Bitcoin.
