Objective

The main objective of Africa Bitcoin Day is to reinforce the commitment of Bitcoiners to advancing Bitcoin adoption in Africa and promote a bottom-up economic change. Through this, we aim to raise awareness about Bitcoin’s potential to spur economic growth in Africa, promote small businesses and educate everyday citizens on how to properly and safely adopt Bitcoin.

Expected Outcomes

Increase in Adoption and Use Of Bitcoin In Africa

Africa Bitcoin Day is expected to highlight the benefits of Bitcoin adoption and use across the continent. This would also provide a platform for bitcoiners to share their experiences and success stories. This will also encourage people and businesses to adopt the use of Bitcoin and increase usage and demand in Africa.

Increase in investment and entrepreneurship opportunities for Bitcoin-related ventures in Africa

Africa Bitcoin Day will provide a space for entrepreneurs, investors and startups to showcase their Bitcoin-related products, initiatives and services. This will help draw investment to bitcoin-related ventures and encourage problem-solving in the bitcoin space across Africa. 

Increase in education and awareness of Bitcoin in Africa

We recognise the importance of education and awareness in making Africans accept and use Bitcoin. Through related activities such as workshops, webinars, media interviews and other activities, Africans will be informed about the benefits and risks of using Bitcoin and its potential impact on the African economy. 

Strengthen collaboration and networking among the African Bitcoin ecosystem

Africa Bitcoin Day will provide an opportunity for Bitcoiners across the continent to meet, network, and collaborate. This will help to build a stronger, more vibrant Bitcoin ecosystem in Africa, and foster greater collaboration and cooperation among Bitcoiners across the continent.

Target Audience

The Africa Bitcoin Day will be organized in a decentralized manner by African Bitcoiners from various countries. The event is expected to attract participation from Bitcoiners across the continent and to reach small business owners in the informal sector,  entrepreneurs, civil society, policymakers, startups, students, and anyone interested in the adoption and use of Bitcoin in Africa.

Cet événement vise à rassembler les passionnés de Bitcoin à travers le continent pour discuter de l'avenir et des défis des écosystèmes locaux, célébrer les succès du Bitcoin dans leurs régions et planifier les projets qui contribueront à l'adoption du Bitcoin.

Africa Bitcoin Day va faciliter la rencontre entre passionnés locaux de Bitcoin pour explorer ensemble l'avenir et les défis de l'écosystème Bitcoin dans leur région. L'événement va aussi leur donner l'occasion d'évaluer et de célébrer les petites victoires du Bitcoin dans leur pays. Ce rassemblement est une opportunité unique de réfléchir et de planifier des projets futurs qui aideront à établir le Bitcoin comme une norme dans les pays africains, ouvrant ainsi la voie vers une adoption plus large et l'intégration du Bitcoin dans notre quotidien.

Les communautés doivent soumettre leur candidature pour organiser une rencontre dans le cadre d'Africa Bitcoin Day à la date prévue. Africa Bitcoin Community sélectionnera les communautés retenues pour organiser ces rencontres. Les candidatures devraient mettre en avant comment la communauté prévoit de se réunir, de célébrer, et de planifier un projet futur.

Les Bitcoiners n'importe quel pays africain peuvent organiser une activité à l'occasion d'Africa Bitcoin Day.

Les projets développés à l'occasion d'Africa Bitcoin Day seront mis en avant dans la communication de l'Africa Bitcoin Community.
